WATER
PROBLEM
£100Ms Could Be Saved By Businesses Every Year
The damage and waste caused by water vapour costs UK businesses hundreds
of millions of pounds a year – yet it can be checked with a simple
30 minute test. Paper jamming, perishables biodegrading, electronics failing,
components rusting and pharmaceuticals loosing potency are all caused
by a simple misunderstanding about water vapour that is easy to put right.
Enclosures, seals and packages
are designed to keep water out (or in) - but they are often virtually
useless when it comes to water vapour which can often pass through them
virtually unhindered. Versaperm Limited is a world technology leader in
this area and has introduced a quick and simple way to determine the water
vapour permeability for most types of enclosures, seals, packaging, films,
coatings or containers.
The Versaperm WVTR (Water Vapour
Transmission) meter can cope with several samples at a time - often give
a reading in as little as 30 minutes – whereas the conventional
gravimetric measurement technique takes several days and is significantly
less accurate.
The meter is easy to use and
gives a series of digital readouts that can be recorded or simply read
off the LCD screen. It needs no re-calibration and requires, at most,
minimal training to give results that are accurate to better than one
part per million (with some samples a few parts per hundred million).
Sensitivities are in the range 0.05 – 3200g/m2/day.
The Versaperm system can not
only supply the equipment but also offers a testing service for a huge
range of products and packages – from blister packs to sterile packaging
and from pizzas to missiles.
