It’s obviously important that no parts of a car leak water or hydrocarbons.  The problems that are hardest to track down often result from the vapours from water and hydrocarbon actually permeating through the walls of the material.  It is a legal requirement to check for this in almost every country around the world. Getting it wrong can be disastrous, getting it right can give you that golden Midas touch.

Conventional tests on components, assemblies, materials, tanks, pipes and seals can be slow and expensive, taking days, weeks or even months - and they are not always either accurate or consistent.  To overcome this, Versaperm has produced an upgraded version of its advanced and sensitive new meter which can quickly and accurately test vapour permeabilities for a wide range of components, materials and even finished units.  These range from plastic petrol tanks to door panels and from flat material samples to complex equipment and seals.

The Versaperm permeability meter is simple to use, requiring, at most, minimal training, yet it boosts accuracy and dramatically reduces the time required to make the measurement.  Sometimes results can be produced in as little as 30 minutes.  It is accurate in the Parts Per Million (PPM) range for many materials and gases.

Versaperm’s new meter can optionally be configured to measure permeability for a variety of gases including hydrocarbons, solvents, oxygen, carbon dioxide, helium and water vapour.  The equipment is easy to use, highly automated and  computerised.

Versaperm also offers a laboratory testing service and technical consultancy for companies that test too few samples to make the purchase of equipment viable.
