Vapour permeability of adhesives and adhesive films

The vapour permeability of adhesives and the adhesive films in laminates is critical as it links to adhesion energy. Additionally, low water and other vapour transmission properties are highly desirable in bonding, sealing, coating and encapsulating applications as they reduce adhesive degradation. Also adhesive films and materials are widely used as permeation barriers in industrial applications and laminates.
Versaperm's new mass spectrometry based solvent vapour permeability measurement equipment is designed to resolve this issue for both the development and quality control of adhesives, films and even mastics. It allows you the ability to test and develop effective new and long-lasting adhesives.
The equipment is fast and accurate and offers a simple way to measure vapour permeability, not just for water vapour but also for hydrocarbon vapour and most other gases including hydrogen, oxygen, solvents and CO2.
Measurements are accurate in the parts per million range and you can characterize several separate films, adhesives or mastics at the same time, sometimes in as little as 30 minutes.
As well as manufacturing the permeability measurement instruments, Versaperm offers a permeability laboratory service and consultancy for companies that need to test samples on an irregular basis.
