Water vapour is insidious and can cause more problems than most other things put together. It makes paper
jam, products crumble and electronics fail. It can cause paints, adhesives and coatings to dry too slowly, or too quickly and it can cause rust, chemical or
physical changes. Yet despite the fact that it is omnipresent and highly invasive, traditional measurements take several days and are difficult to produce
accurately.
Versaperm, technology leaders in water vapour measurement technology, has introduced a WVTR (Water Vapour Transmission)
meter that can quickly produce a result that is accurate to better than one part per million.
It is ideal for both laboratories and quality control systems. It can be used on huge range of materials and enclosures
– from foil laminates to tubing and from paint to packaging, paper and even missiles! It can also provide measurements of substances that might otherwise be
decomposed by normal water content measuring techniques.
The meter can cope with several samples at a time, is simple to use and gives a series of digital readouts that can be
recorded or simply read off the LCD screen. It needs no re-calibration and requires, at most, minimal training. Sensitivities are in the range 0.05 –
3200g/m2/day.
