Electronics and Moisture Don't Mix the permeability potential

Mixing advanced electronics with moisture is a potent recipe for failure. Moisture, usually in the form of water vapour, is omnipresent.  Sadly, water vapour is virtually impossible to keep out of ANY enclosure whereas it is relatively easy to keep it out in its liquid form. Water vapour "permeates" through the actual materials that everything is made from, causing short circuits, electronic failures and disasters when it does.

To help solve this problem, Versaperm' has introduced a specialist vapour permeability measurement system for electronic enclosures and components.  It is a fast, simple and efficient way to understand and resolve the concern for both the materials used and the finished enclosures, connectors, components and even the finished products themselves.  The system can optionally work with virtually all other vapours commonly present in environments where electronic systems are deployed - including, hydrocarbons, solvents, CO2.

The Versaperm instrument gives results that are accurate in the parts per million range, (PPM) for most samples and vapour.  It can cope with several material samples, components or enclosures at a time, often give a reading in as little as 30 minutes – conventional gravimetric measurements take several days and are significantly less reliable.

Versaperm also offers a laboratory service for companies that only need to test samples for permeability on an irregular basis.
